Former IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba has responded to allegations made by former IEBC Commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe that slain IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando was led “to the slaughterhouse” by commission insiders, working closely with his killers.
Dr. Akombe posted a screenshot of an email from Mr. Chiloba that simply said, “Dear Roselyn, do not attempt to rewrite history. Our silence is not your license. Yours, Ezra”
Dr. Roselyne Akombe on Thursday, July 30, resurfaced and announced that she was ready to provide her testimony on the unsolved murder of her former colleague, Chris Msando.
Dr. Akombe reached out to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi and asked that he represent her.
“On this anniversary of my colleague Msando’s murder, could you take this case up in the public’s interest? As I have said in the past, I am ready to testify,” she asked the LSK President on Twitter.
Akombe insists she is ready to testify if an inquest into the killing of Msando is opened.
But Chebukati said it was unfair for Akombe to speak three years after Msando was brutally killed.
“We all want to see justice for the family of Msando and Msando. We have said this right from the beginning. Akombe should help authorities solve the murder,” he said.
“It appears there is something she knows which we don’t know. I believe she should provide that information to the investigative agencies. Perhaps it will help with the investigations to be completed.”
Akombe fled to the US eight days before the October 26th repeat presidential election from where she announced her resignation from the IEBC. She claimed her life was in danger, and later returned to work for the United Nations in New York.
