President Uhuru Kenyatta has a tough balancing act in the next 14 days as he makes sure he has the best team to deliver his promises, as the country heads towards 2022.
According to reports, the Head of State has two options on the table from which he will pick the best individuals to help in achieving the Big 4 Agenda.
One of the options available is to dissolve the Cabinet and put up an entirely new team, with new faces. The other option is to do a major Cabinet reshuffle, performing Cabinet Secretaries will be retained while those tainted in any way removed or demoted.
The head of state together with Hon Raila is believed will be holding several meetings and consultations on what is the best team to move the government forward and fully execute it.
Rumors have been flying around for months now of a looming Cabinet reshuffle by Uhuru, and his move which has caught many by surprise may be an indicator of looming Cabinet changes.
The next Cabinet meeting is set to be held on September 3, 2020, after they leave.
Since the first COVID-19 case was reported on March 13th, 2020, Cabinet Secretaries have been at work with some like Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, Education CS George Magoha, and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i directly involved in the fight against the pandemic.
