Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress Party has asked Deputy President William Ruto to resign or face impeachment over his remarks at the weekend.
ANC deputy party leader Ayub Savula said the DP’s attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta warrants calls for his resignation.
“He called the President a tribalist. How can you say your boss is a tribalist?” he stated.
The Musalia Mudavadi led outfit has also endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s proposal of the rotational presidency after long dominance with the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities.
The party’s deputy leader Ayub Savula in a press statement on Tuesday, January 12, said they will lead in preparing DP Ruto’s motion of impeachment to protect Kenya against violent implosion being fermented by him. “We have called this press conference to tell the outgoing Deputy President, William Ruto that you can lie to some people some time, but will not lie to all Kenyans all the time.
We want to tell Kenyans some truth about Ruto. But we are also calling on Ruto to do the right thing – resign – short of which he should be fired,” said Savula.
